BREAKFAST TRIP: BRASSERIE BREAD

Tucked away at Banksmeadow near the Port of Botany (Sydney) is a gem of a bakehouse – Brasserie Bread. You might have seen the bakery featured on Masterchef last season? The bakery includes a bread shop and separate café; it has an understated charm, but more importantly, vey delicious offerings.

My friend Sharpy took me on a road trip to the bakery one Sunday. The first thing that hits your senses when you walk through the door is the homely scent of freshly baked bread. Before we so much as sat down for breakfast we'd already planned what bakery treats we'd be taking home. The café has this long bench-seat table running through the centre, which creates this lovely communal dining hall atmosphere.

I ordered the Florentine panini and shared a croissant and Danish with my dining partner (eyes bigger than stomachs, much?). SOOOO GOOD.

The other thing I quite like about Brasserie Bread is its location – the outlying locale means that you can hop in the car and go for a leisurely Sunday drive whilst building your appetite. Sydney residents - pen this one in your little day planners!
